Guédé Patrick Dogo in the journal Sankofa reports:
"Present in various ceremonies (birth, marriage, death...), this idiophone by shaking and by clash is used to give rhythm to the traditional music of the region Abouré. It is used to accompany sung proverbs or satirical works thus contributing to the cohesion of Abouré community. Its users are countered largely or exclusively among senior men." (Dogo 2020).
